PROJECTS
In addition to providing financial student support, staff support and program sponsorship, the foundation also raises money for specific capital improvements that is not covered by the district. The video highlights the improvements made by the Foundation.
2022-23
PRIORITIES
In the 2022-23 school year, our goal is to raise $100,000 towards the following:
- Ongoing funding for these fundamental services:
- Critical Needs Program, including support to families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
- Staff Appreciation Program
- Providing scholarships to deserving students for our summer travel program
- Supporting our morning enrichment program to ensure McAuliffe’s academics remain top tier
2021-22 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2018-19 school year, a portion of the $100,000 that the McAuliffe Foundation raised went towards the following projects:
- Ongoing funding for our Critical Needs Program and our Staff Appreciation Program.
- The purchase and installation of of a kiln for the Art Department
- The purchase of tickets to professional sporting events for our sports teams to create and celebrate camaraderie
- Scholarships deserving students for our summer travel program and YMCA camps.

2019-20 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2019-20 school year, a portion of the $100,000 that the McAuliffe Foundation raised went towards the following projects:

2018-19 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2018-19 school year, a portion of the $100,000 that the McAuliffe Foundation raised went towards the following projects:
- Ongoing funding for our Critical Needs Program, Service Learning Program, Student Travel Scholarships, and our Staff Appreciation Program.
- The purchase of laptops for out the Engineering Classrooms
- The purchase of a new Digital Sound System for the Auditorium
- The branding of the north gym with McAuliffe International logo and banners
- Renovation of the 1st floor lockers.
- Updates to Choir/Theater Classroom
- Scholarships for more than 30 deserving students to travel to Washington D.C., New York City, and YMCA camps.
2017-18 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2017-18 school year, a portion of the $265,000 that the McAuliffe Foundation raised went towards the following projects:
- Water Fountains and Water Bottle Filling Stations
- 14 Seat Bus with McAuliffe Logo (Purchased but being processed by DPS)
- Sunshades for the CourtYard
- Bike Corral (Higher cost than anticipated from 2016-17 project)
- Scholarships for 17 students to attend school trips to Washington DC, Costa Rica and New York City
- Reach for the Stars Fundraising Event at Stanley Marketplace
2016-17 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2016-17 school year, a portion of the $140,000 that the McAuliffe Foundation raised went towards the following projects:
- Student and Teacher Support
Ongoing funding for Critical Needs, Service Learning, Student Scholarships, and Teacher Appreciation - Outdoor Futsal Court
- Indoor Fitness Room in the Basement
- Additional Signs, Banners, and Floor Mats to enhance the Visual Culture of the School
- Bike Corral to Store Student Bikes
2015-16 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2015-16 school year, a portion of the $150,000 that the McAuliffe foundation raised went towards the following capital projects:
- Outdoor Basketball Court and Hoops
- New Indoor Basketball Backboards
- Fourteen Seat Bus with McAuliffe Logo
- Courtyard Landscaping (removal & rebuilding shed, additional seating & shade, landscaping)
- New Signage in the Building
- Scholarships to help Students take part in activities such as attending our Outdoor Education camp and 8th grade trip to Washington D.C.
- Sports Equipment for PE
- Library and Engineering Supplies
2014-15 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2014-15 school year, a portion of the $150,000 that the McAuliffe foundation raised went towards the following capital projects:
- New Front Doors to the Building
- Outdoor Play Equipment, including 2 Gaga Ball Structures
- In-school enrichments, service learning trips, outdoor education camp, student socials, teacher appreciation
- Critical Needs
- Scholarships for Student Trips
2013-14 ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In the 2013-14 school year, McAuliffe raised $115,000, thanks to the generosity of hundreds of families, businesses, and community members. These funds were used to support the following programs and enhancements:
- The Reach for the Stars event
- Student critical needs (food, uniforms, eyeglasses, scholarships, school supplies, and more)
- In-school Enrichments
- Service Learning Trips
- Outdoor Education
- Student Socials
- Teacher Appreciation
- Courtyard project, a new courtyard on the south side of the Smiley building where students may now eat lunch outside. This area includes a stage where students can perform, as well as watch presentations or host a movie night. All of the trees and shrubs were planted by employees of DaVita, a McAuliffe sponsor.
- Restoration of the library, which included new books, furniture, carpeting and paint
